TPR sole is a new type of thermoplastic rubber mixed with SBS as the base material, which is environmentally friendly and does not need vulcanization, simple processing, or injection molding after heating.TPR sole has the characteristics of small specific gravity, lightweight shoe material, good elasticity, easy to color, good breathability, high strength, etc. TPR soles are commonly used in leather shoes, children’s sports shoes, fashion shoes, etc. TPR soles have both the performance of rubber and the characteristics of elastomer, but rubber soles are more wear-resistant than TPR soles.
In order to increase the abrasion resistance of TPR soles, the following measures can be taken:
1.Choose high-quality TPR materials: choose TPR materials with good wear-resistant performance, such as TPR materials with high hardness, which can increase the wear-resistant performance of the sole.
2.Adding reinforcing agent: Adding an appropriate amount of reinforcing agent, such as cellulose, glass fiber, etc., into TPR material can increase the hardness and strength of the sole and improve the wear-resisting performance.
3.Adjusting the structural design of the sole: optimizing the structural design of the sole, increasing the thickness, and raising the texture of the sole can effectively improve the abrasion resistance of the sole.
4.Improve the manufacturing process: Optimise the shoe-making process to ensure the compactness and uniformity of the TPR soles, and avoid the existence of voids, bubbles, and other defects, in order to improve the abrasion resistance.
5.Adding a wear-resistant agent for shoe soles: By adding a special wear-resistant agent for shoe soles to improve the wear-resistant performance of shoe soles, it can prolong their life of shoe soles.
SILIKE Anti-abrasion masterbatch ( Anti-wear agent ) NM-1Y is a pelletized formulation with 50% UHMW Siloxane polymer dispersed in SBS. It is particularly developed for SBS or SBS-compatible resin systems to improve the final items’ abrasion resistance and decrease the abrasion value in the thermoplastics.
This product is suitable for TPR soles, TR soles, TPR compounds, other SBS-compatible plastics, etc.
Compared to conventional lower molecular weight Silicone / Siloxane additives, like Silicone oil, silicone fluids or other type abrasion additives, SILIKE Anti-abrasion Masterbatch NM-1Y is expected to give a much better abrasion resistance property without any influence on hardness and color.
A small amount of SILIKE Anti-abrasion Masterbatch NM-1Y can improve the processing fluidity of the resin, improve the mold filling and demolding performance, reduce the extruder torque, improve the internal and external lubrication performance, improve the surface performance of the products, and give the products better abrasion resistance and scratch resistance. At the same time, this product has no effect on the hardness and color of the products, is green and environmentally friendly, and is suitable for DIN, ASTM, NBS, AKRON, SATRA, and GB wear tests.
As a branch of the series of silicone additives, the Anti-abrasion Masterbatch NM series especially focuses on enlarging its abrasion-resistance property except for the general characteristics of silicone additives and greatly improves the abrasion-resisting ability of shoe sole compounds.
